This proceedings covers the technical aspects of concentrating photovoltaics (CPV). CPV technology uses a comparatively cost-effective optic to concentrate the sunlight onto a small-sized solar cell made of semiconductor materials. Using this technology approach, lower cost on PV-produced energy level on $/k Wh is expected. The CPV technology features several systems approaches, all showing high operating system efficiencies. The state-of-the-art for the technology, but also critical issues for this technology are summarized in this proceedings book.
